Rosengarten, Seiser Alm, Plattkofel, Sella, Pordoi and Marmolada: this Alpine to high-Alpine hut-to-hut hike leads through some of the most famous mountains and high valleys in the Dolomites. From the legendary realm of King Laurin in the Rosengarten, the route passes the Seiser Alm and the striking Plattkofel and Langkofel before continuing over the Sella Pass into the rugged Sella and towards Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites.

Legendary, atmospheric and high-Alpine

This version is designed for guests who want to experience the Dolomites not as part of a scheduled open group, but exclusively with people they know. Dates and organisation are agreed individually, creating a personal, intensive and well-guided hiking week.

At the same time, the tour remains an Alpine to high-Alpine hut-to-hut trip. It requires good preparation, mountain experience and the willingness to hike from hut to hut for several days with a light backpack.

Who is this tour for?
The private Dolomites tour is suitable for families, groups of friends or established walking groups who want to share a demanding Dolomites circuit. It is best suited to guests with previous mountain hiking experience, good fitness, sure-footedness and a good head for heights.
The stages lead over mountain passes, through high valleys and to famous viewpoints. The comfort here is not hotel-based, but lies in the organisation, the guiding and the special atmosphere of classic Dolomites mountain huts.

Tour itinerary (summary)

Day 1: Arrival at Karer Pass - ascent to the Rotwand Hut
Meeting at Karer Pass and start into the Rosengarten. The ascent to the Rotwand Hut takes the group straight into the impressive rock scenery of the Dolomites.

Day 2: Valle de Vajolet - Zigolade Pass - Grasleiten Pass - Molignon Pass - Tierser Alpl
A varied day with well-known passes, Dolomites panoramas and classic hut atmosphere. The route crosses a particularly striking landscape of rock walls and mountain passes.

Day 3: Roßzahnscharte - Mahlknechtjoch - Friedrich August Hut
Via the Roßzahnscharte and Mahlknechtjoch, the route continues towards Plattkofel and Langkofel. Wide alpine pastures and expansive Dolomites views shape this stage.

Day 4: Sella Pass - Val Lasties - Piz Boè - Fassa Hut
Over the Sella Pass, the tour enters the wild and dramatic Sella massif. One of the highlights is Piz Boè at 3,152 metres; the Fassa Hut stands directly on the summit.

Day 5: Sass Pordoi - Bindelweg - Lake Fedaia - Malga Ciapela - Rifugio Falier
After Sass Pordoi and the panoramic Bindelweg, Marmolada becomes increasingly dominant. Via Lake Fedaia and Malga Ciapela, the route leads to Rifugio Falier.

Day 6: Ombretta Pass - Val de Contrin - Solagna - return transfer to Karer Pass
The final stage crosses Ombretta Pass and descends through Val de Contrin to Solagna. Afterwards, a taxi transfer returns the group to Karer Pass.

Weather, snow conditions or regional changes may require adjustments to the planned itinerary. The exact route cannot therefore be guaranteed in every detail.

This private tour is organised by arrangement on individually agreed dates. Availability depends on hut places, the guiding team, season, weather and trail conditions, and group size.

Meeting point

Meeting at 1:00 pm at the car park at Karer Pass, Karerpass No. 9, Trentino/South Tyrol, Italy, below Gasthaus Antermont. The meeting point is easily reached by car; please allow sufficient time for your journey.

Return
Around 4:00 pm at Karer Pass on the final day

Parking

Parking is available at the paid car park at Karer Pass. The return to Karer Pass is planned for around 4:00 pm on the final tour day.

About the region

The Dolomites are part of the Southern Limestone Alps and are among the most impressive mountain landscapes in Europe. Distinctive massifs such as the Rosengarten, Langkofel, Sella and Marmolada define this tour and make it an especially intensive Dolomites circuit.

The landscape changes between steep rock walls, high pastures, notches, passes and classic mountain huts. The warm light of morning and evening creates the special atmosphere for which the Dolomites are famous.
